Plane of Innovation: Masks of the Marvelous

Zone Info

  • Zone Tier: Heroic T1
  • Resolve Requirement: 378
  • This zone is filled with very social mobs, a lot if which fly around and even respawn. Try not to wonder off away from the group.

Walkthrough

Make your way east first and avoid or kill mobs that lead up to the name. Watch out for furnaces (marked by big red circles), which will stun you every time you pass close by.

(1) Ancient Clockwork Prototype

Before the fight

  • Clear adds in this area, if you don’t want to pull them by accident.

Fight mechanics

  • Tank n spank.
  • Linked with two adds, Clockwork Protorype XXVII and Clockwork Prototype XXIV.
  • Randomly throughout the fight, they will be getting Clockwork Protection, which makes them immune to all damage for a short duration.
  • Additionally name will also gain Planar Bubble, which makes him immune.
  • Keep swapping between the mobs as they drop stoneskins.
Buffs and Detriments

Make your way back and take the road leading to east side of the zone then follow north until you reach an area with Scrounger.

(2) Clockwork Scrounger XVII

Before the fight

  • Clear adds in this area, if you don’t want to pull them by accident.

Fight mechanics

  • Joust and spread fight.
  • Tank the mob in the middle of that area.
  • When Scrounger emotes “…missing text…“, everyone but tank jousts away at least 20 and spreads out.
  • He’s gonna send electricity trough one player, and then it will bounce to next closest person and kill them, then bounce to another one and so on.
  • If everyone’s out of range, then electricity gets grounded and no one dies.
  • Occasionally gains damage immunity from Gnomish Ingenuity for a short duration.
Buffs and Detriments

After the scrounger dies, open the door at north side of the area, and clear your way through the corridor and into the next area.

(3) The Glitched Guardian 10101

Before the fight

  • Clear adds in this area, if you don’t want to pull them by accident.

Fight mechanics

  • Tank and spank.
  • Gains short immunity from Planar Bubble.
  • Constantly spawns adds which should be burned down fast!
  • If too many adds stay up, name will keep healing.
  • With high enough dps, you can just straight burn the name and ignore the adds. They despawn once the name dies.
Buffs and Detriments

Make your way back to where you killed Scrounger and this tome go to a small room in north-west corner. You need to have Electro-Charged Clockwork Hand equipped in order to open the door. Defeat an erratic clockwork, which then turns into a non aggro NPC. Hail him and the door to sewers is gonna get unlocked. Now be careful. Do not go running down the moment those doors open. The whole sewer is patrolled by Security Sweeper (patrolled area marked by big orange rectangle). This mob can’t see you, or you will be teleported back to entrance. Position yourself somewhere halfway down the sewer (marked by S1), and wait for the sweeper bot to pass to your left. Then wait a couple more seconds, and bot will be making his way back. Once he passes to your right, go down and follow him. Do not get closer then 10m, and do not attack it. Eventually he’ll pass exit, you just have to reach it and leave (marked by S2) before he turns around and start patrolling back.

(4) Glitched Cell Keeper

Fight mechanics

  • Tank n spank.
  • Throughout the fight he will spawn red circle around him, which grow in size as the fight goes on.
  • During this period, it takes no damage at all and will heal once it goes away.
  • Red circles must be jousted, anyone left inside when it expires will die.
Buffs and Detriments

Doors behind where Keeper was standing will unlock, once he dies. Go in and talk to Meldrith to open the door to final area. Go through the door, and proceed east. At the very end you’ll find Gearclaw.

(5) Gearclaw the Collector

Fight mechanics

  • Timed fight.
  • Shortly into the fight, his title will change to <Self Destruct Countdown : 600>. You will have 10m to finish this encounter before he explodes and wipes the group.
  • AT 75%, 50% and 25% he will ‘deactivate’ while emoting “Gearclaw the Collector runs out of power… You may need to turn his key to give him some more!
  • During this period name gains immunity to all damage and stops attacking. You need to be right click on him and select “Tun Key”.
  • You can use this period to heal, rebuff and all that, but keep in mind that self destruct timer will continue during his inactivity.
  • Fight is fairly easy and simple, but can be hard on certain healers that lack wards or DRs.
