GU100 – The Siege of Zek

GU100 adds one new storyline. You’re required to finish first quest in the timeline on at least one toon to be able to access the new zones on all your toons:

It also adds two new overland zones:

  • Zek, the Scourge Wastes [Solo]
  • Zek, the Scourge Wastes [Heroic]

Both zones are the exact same zones including the questlines. The only difference is one has solo mobs, and the other one has heroic mobs. Heroic zones, however require you to have a group as they’re nearly impossible to solo on your own. Both zones offer the same questline, with exact same quests. Both questlines can be done, though heroic version offers much better gear as reward.

IMPORTANT: You must know Druzaic language in order to progress to certain part of the questlines. If you don’t know how to learn it, consult Words of Pure Magic wiki article

Solo signature line reward includes a mount a Silenflyer owl egg, Rebuilt Blood Iron Forge and a choice of one cyan adornment:

Heroic signature line reward includes a mount a Silenflyer owl egg, Rebuilt Blood Iron Forge and a choice of one cyan adornment:

Completing all the quests in both zones (Solo has 15 quests, Heroic has 12 quests), along with 3 in Scourge Keep will give you Over Achiever triumph achievement, which rewards you one charm of your choice:

  • The Fabled Sanctum of Fear *

Heroic Contested dungeon

  • Zek, the Scourge Wastes: The Siege

Zones marked with * can be directly access via a portal on the docks in the Thundering Steppes.

Itemization: Gear, Currency & Infusers

Although new armor is added to new zones, they use same stat pattern and amount of stats as their ToT counterpart. There are few exceptions, where unique armor contains stats like doublecast and flurry. As for jewelry, a whole new jewelry is introduced. Procs are being removed from earring, amulets, rings and wrists, while certain stats are increased by a huge amount like potency, crit bonus, abil mod and WDB.

There’s no new currency or faction merchants introduced by this updated. Alt currency rewarded for daily zone missions and timed quests still remain Coin of the Eternal Queen.

New Infusers

Note: Throughout the questline you will receive several infusers as reward, or by turning in collections sets. Infusers received through questing and turning in collections are flagged as NO-TRADE, however all looted infusers are HEIRLOOM.

“Become heartbound to that special someone to gain a nifty new title and bonuses for playing together!”

Effect - HeartbondEssentially, this nifty feature now allows you to get married and gain certain bonuses. In order to go through the ceremony, you first need access to an item that drops in Shard of Love the agnostic zone, called Heartstone. It’s a guild hall only house furniture and it can be used from your own guild hall or some other guilds’ as long as you can click it. Next step is to send group invite to your partner. While in the group, both of you must approach the same heartstone, then one of you can right click it and choose to become Heartbound. This will open up a new window that will allow you to select from the list of you group members whom you wish to marry. Select your partner and they will receive an invite to become bonded. Once your partner accepts it, you both get a permanent passive buff Heartbond which gives fervor to both of you when you’re both logged in (5 for non members, 15 for all access). If you right click the altar again you can ‘rekindle the bound’. Once you do this, your original passive buff will disappear and will be replaced with similar buff that lasts 30mins but gives you the double amount of fervor. Once it expires it’s repalced by the original passive buff. You can rekindle it at any time.

  • Yes, same sex marriages are allowed.
  • Yes, you can file for a divorce.
  • Buff is active for as long as your hearbound partner is logged in. You don’t have to be in same zone or group to receive benefits from.
  • Rekindling the bond will give both you and your partner the active buff, even if they’re not in the same zone or group.
